The auction started, and he was the first horse out. He went to the meat bidder for 32 cents a pound. He had such sweet eyes that we could not leave him to be slaughtered. Jamie approached the meat buyer and he agreed to sell him to us. I found an ATM and took out enough money and bought him. Jamie arranged and paid for shipping, and he is now settling in at the farm where I have my other horse. He did not know what treats were at first and did not want to be caught. Now he comes up for treats and attention. We have discovered that he knows how to lunge so we are curious about his history. We know he was a Mennonite buggy horse for a few years, but that is all the info that we have. He is good with dogs, and even though he is in a quarantine section now, he seems to like the other horses. We are hoping that he will make a good riding horse for my dad or any friends that visit so we can ride together. He gets to go with all the other horses on Thursday so fingers crossed that all goes well.
